City and Guilds 6160-04 Level 3 Control Entry and Arrangements for Confined Spaces Training Course

Duration: 3 Days

Introduction: This course is for the entry controller who controls entry and arrangements for confined spaces but doesn’t enter the confined space. This course qualifies the delegate to be the entry controller for both Medium and High Risk confined spaces.    

Pre-Course Requirements: All delegates should be medically fit in line with UK OGN requirements.    

Course Content: Delivered in accordance with the Confined Space Regulations 1997, successful completion of the course leads to an understanding of:

  • Implement procedures for teams working in confined spaces
  • Control safe entry and exit to the confined space
  • Monitor the work team to ensure procedures are followed
  • Control emergency situations
  • Understand health and safety and environmental legislation
  • Understand standard protocols for work in confined spaces
  • Understand entry controller duties and responsibilities
  • Understand equipment checks and testing required

Training Methods:  All theoretical training is re-enforced by demonstrations and practical exercises.  City and Guilds assessments, theoretical and practical, will take place on the final day.

Certification:  A City and Guilds Certificate of Competence will be issued on successful completion of the full course and achieving a pass for the theory and practical exams.  This certificate is valid for 3 years.
