CRISIS MANAGEMENT AND HUMAN BEHAVIOUR

This one-day course is approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) as meeting the mandatory training requirement for senior officers and key personnel on ships carrying passengers, as specified in the IMO Standards for Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW 95) Code Sections A-V/2 & 3 paragraphs 1, 3 and 5.

The course also has application in other maritime sectors, such as port passenger terminal personnel, river cruising vessels and offshore platforms. Additionally, the course would also be appropriate for land-based personnel in, for example, leisure centres, shopping centres etc.

The course includes:

• Human behaviour and responses during a crisis
• Crisis leadership, command and communications
• Decision making and control in crisis situations
• Optimisation of resources during a crisis
• Understanding and implementing emergency plans
• Crowd management
